giddy up.

My nephew's first birthday is approaching within a few weeks. While I am here struggling on what to get the little fellow, my ingenious dad is building a freaking rocking horse! I have always admired my father for his impressive artistry skills and fine craftsmanship. I don't think there is anything this man isn't capable of doing!

I completely love his heartwarming gift and can not wait to see the finished product. <3

Update!

Wow. That is so amazing! I wish I could do woodwork. I made a cube shelf before from MDF boards, but that was nothing compared to your Dad's rocking horse!

My dad made me one of those too. White horse, black mane, green and yellow saddle. Then he made all our furniture all Little House on the Prairie style. Now I have a fantastic love of power tools. Dads are great.

Oh my god, that craftsmanship is amazing. It's easy to see from his preliminary etchings on the wood, how beautiful it will be...

And then BAM, a little wood stain, a lot of love and some gold paint... voila! MASTERPIECE.

What did you come up with? Very excited to see.

O-M-G. When I first checked your post, I was thinking to myself..I wonder how he'll pull it off since it didnt look thick enough to support a seat, but the finish product is absolutely wonderful. I can see where you get your artistic abilities from ;)
